  • Panj-aab: My brethren please listen to us.

Where water (aab) is means name, language, land, arts and culture. There water makes merry go, that land is called Punjab. The land of five sisters

    3. Jhelam (ancient name Vitasta)
    4. Ravi (ancient name Irawati,)
    5. satluj (ancient name Shatadru)

All these five sisters take birth in high and hygiene Himalayas, and then play in open fields of Punjab, making this land of warriors full of joys. This, these have been doing since theirs births from pre historical ages to today in space age. The Punjab has become food grain basket of nation due to selflessness services of these unspoken sisters of Punjab. This Panj-aab (in Persian Panj means Five and aab means water) has impact on every aspects of lives, in water land of Indian subcontinent (Punjab is a geographical name to that land which is called playground of five sisters cutting across the physical barriers). These daughters of Himalayas has never taken partisan consideration on physical barriers to theirs services. This is an effort of abcnewsnetwork team in this part of world to make Pollution in surface water (Rivers), a public debate in Punjabi’s society, in theirs heritage, these five rivers are the life line of this joyful society. After so many years of services to theirs brethren, now they are praying for survival because of following elimination threats by theirs own.

Above statistics are from eastern Punjab (Indian), the situation is also worst in western Punjab (Pakistan).Following are highlights.
    1. PAKISTAN: Focus on the slow death of the River Ravi

The wide variety of fish that once swam in the Ravi has vanished as have the tiny minnows and crabs children used to catch in the shallow waters along the banks. Even the reeds that used to line the river have gone. The river is virtually dead even when the normally dry bed carries water, such as after the recent winter rains.

The life that once thrived here has been killed off by the dumping of millions of tons of toxic industrial effluent in the water along with huge amounts of raw sewage. As the river has died, so has a facet of life in the city of Lahore has died too. The hordes of Sunday picnickers, rowing enthusiasts and the amateur fishermen have all gone. So have the boatmen who used to ferry people to the Mughul-age vantage point in the middle of the river known as ‘Kamran’s Baradari.’ The extreme pollution of the River Ravi has destroyed most of the 42 species of fish that once lived in the river, as well as the bird life around it, which has migrated to other areas. The survival of small invertebrates, micro fauna and flora is also threatened Source: of IRIN report
    2. In Jhelum River the DO content remains well above 7 mg/l. The BOD downstream of Jhelum is around 2.2 mg/l. River Chenab receives pollution loads from many industries and cities. As a result the DO is totally depleted in various stretches. The BOD downstream of Faisalabad is 4.2 mg/l. The pollution in River Ravi is the highest of all the rivers in Pakistan. Most waste water discharges in the river reach between Lahore and Balloki, a length of 62 km. The river presently receives 47% of the total municipal and industrial pollution load discharged into all rivers of Pakistan. The BOD in the river after receiving Lahore municipal discharges is estimated to be 77 mg/l on the basis of mean annual flow. Between Lahore and Balloki under low flow conditions, the river is completely devoid of DO and simply acts as a sullage drain. Source: www.pcrwr.
    3. The BOD in Indus River downstream of Attock is 2.9 mg/l. In Indus River water quality was studied at Dadu Moro Bridge at Kotri Barrage with nitrate levels at 1.1 and 7.5 mg/l, phosphate at 0.02 and 0.3 mg/l, BOD at 2.4 and 4.1 mg/l, faecal coliform at 50 and 400 per ml. Due to industrial waste discharges from Punjab and Sindh, the content of heavy metals such as nickel, lead, zinc and cadmium have also been found in Indus water. Source: www.pcrwr

It is sad that water in these rivers has not remained fit for drinking and even not suitable for open bathing. Which is being common feather of rural Punjabis’ culture, without it one can not taste the original flavor of this rich and joyful society. Once considered God equal status in Punjabi society the poor five sisters of Punjab has become place for every possible pollutants wastes of society ranging from domestic, agriculture’s, chemicals, Industrial wastes etc. Most of the big industrial units are located on the banks of rivers, it is done only to release theirs pollutants wastes into these Rivers because in this society it is common perception that “water wash every body” and Holly Ganga can wash all sins by one dip in it. In Pakistan side of Punjab in Lahore people on the banks of Ravi give meat to birds because the meat given to the birds is regarded as a religious ritual by many, just as feeding sparrows or ants are seen as deeds smiled upon by Allah (God). There is also a superstition that anyone feeding the kites and crows at the Ravi will receive good fortune. Thus this type of public opinion about purity of water benefits to all pollutants producers. So it is the responsibility of leading Punjabis intellectuals across the all physical barriers to draw attention of common Punjabis on these old perceptions about purity of running river water. Otherwise these five sisters of Punjab will die in the hands of theirs rich, joyful, and brave brethrens, who are well famous for theirs openness and helping nature in all around the globe. If there were no Chenab, no Jhelum, no Ravi, no satluj and no Beas; where Punjabis will celebrate baishikhi (take bath in rivers on first harvesting day), Bansant, And Lohri without this Punjabi brethrens can not remain as joyful for which they are famous. The Punjabi culture is live because of its openness and joyfulness. If there will no joys in it then, it will not remain Ideal for other to enjoy the life. Last not least Punjabis has a history to fight against odds in past. Every time they come out with more joy and experiences, so when their own sisters are calling them for survival then this community which has history of many wars and fights fought for other sake will not let down it owns.

I looked around at stores and on the web to see what was the best thing I could do to protect myself. I had enough of being attacked by all of these harmful things, and though it was time to fight back. So I found one that I really liked, and it took away all of my problems. It even protected me again future attacks. It gave me instructions on how to stop attacks from happing. Review of RSStoBlog

The first thing I noticed after buying RSStoBlog was the well thought out email that came with the download instructions.

    Several links were provided including:

    1. A manual, which shows how to install the software.

    2. A very active forum devoted to Rsstoblog. Many useful ideas and hints from members

    3. A video which shows additional detail on using RSStoBlog

On the same day another email came from Michelle Timothy (the developer of Rsstoblog) explaining some extra points, with a welcome to contact her or the support center with any questions. I hesitated to do so, as before buying I sent Michelle 5 emails asking the sort of picky questions that would drive any manufacturer to distraction (all answered promptly and well by Michelle personally). By the way, the reason for my intense pre-purchase study was that there is no money back guarantee with the software ( justification for this is provided by the company, but is outside the scope of this review).

Anyway, I did send her another email with the address of a new webhost that I was thinking of using, asking if it was suitable for RSStoBlog. She checked it out and said that because it didn’t have a full cPanel, that doing cron jobs ( if you don’t know what they are don’t worry- all explained in the manual and videos) would be more difficult to implement- I could still use RSStoBlog but another host would be preferable.. Disappointing, as the host was cheap- but good to know.

The software can be used in many different ways. I think most users set it up as a way to automatically add content to their blogs (with linking back to their websites)so that both blog and sites it will be spidered quickly and often. They use it as an SEO (Search Engine Optimisation )tool .

My main use is somehat different. I want people to come to my blog and find it genuinely useful. Because I have a financial web page timely news is a big asset. With RSStoBlog I can blend news from different news sites in creative ways. Not only that I can add in other premium RSS feeds. With this I have a virtual creme de la creme of content targeted to my particualr readership. However, this is only one part.

RSStoBlog also allows me to add my own comments and even images, timed to blend in with other items, so that the finished feed on my site is premium content.

    Customers Demand Internet Privacy

… and you’d better sit up and take notice! Customers concern over Internet privacy issues is on the rise, and for good reasons.

Because of SPAM and phishing e-mails, identity theft and viruses, it’s completely understandable that customers have a hightened concern about their Internet privacy. And it’s not only about e-mail adresses and credit card numbers either. More and more companies are collecting vast amounts of data on their customers surfing and buying habits, which could give fascinating insights!

We’ll see that more and more customers are demanding to be informed about how companies are addressing these concerns. And every ons is scrutinized to see if they deliver on the promises made. So businesses can better comply, or prepare to be left behind.

How you can assure Internet privacy for your customers

    1. Create a privacy policy and stick by it

As said, customers will want to know what your internet privacy and security policy is, so you’d better have one! It should have the following aspects in it:

    • Secure data: All data must be protected by firewalls, virus protection and any other measure you can take to establish data integrity and data security

    • Limit access: Access of data must be granted to as limited a group of employees as possible

    • Opt-in: Always ask a customer for the use of personal data, tell the goal for which you need the data, and use the data only for that specific goal

    • Double check: If you cannot be sure of the users identity (e.g. when they enter an e-mail address for a news letter) have the request confirmed

    • Permission: Never share the information with any 3rd party without the customers permission (don’t forget to check the Internet privacy policy of the 3rd party)

    • Customer access: Give customers access to their own data, and an option to change it (this does not have to be online, but is to be preferred)

    • Local data: If you use a local means of storing data (ie. on the customers PC, like cookies), explain why and how you use this information

    • Enforce: Make sure you enforce this privacy policy, if possible by becoming a member of a 3rd party privacy program, like TRUSTe or the Better Business Bureau

    • Children: This is an adult game, do not actively collect personal information from children

    • Change: Tell what you will do when you change the privacy policy

    2. Make info available online

Make sure that your Internet privacy policy is prominently available on your site, preferrably from every page. Also, make all contact information (e-mail, address, phone number, etc.) available in the same fashion. You don’t want your customers to have to search for the info, do you? They might not find it, and then it’s…

    Click. Bye-bye!

    3. Address all concerns

Even with an Internet privacy policy prominently available on your site, customers will contact you, to double-check that they can trust your company with their personal data. This is no distrust, sometimes customers want to be reassured by a real, life person. So make sure that you can handle all those inquiries, fast and reassuring.

Do you have the plan to get a new bathroom and necessitate 32500 dollar

That’s why now you need to check up on and go steady if you can have a loan at a safe percent interest rate. You should be smart today to check out if you have a nice special offer or if you don’t with the bank that offers you a credit loan. A lot of the banks wil show you a rate of interest that is looking safe but doesn’t feel good or so after a period of time. It doesn’t matter if you live in Nashua New York or in Encinitas California a dependable online inspection will economize you often a lot of discommode.

14.1 percent loan rate may look so mediocre but will that be immutable after you’re going to reinforce your credit loan. A merchant bank in FountaValley California or so can have a total totally different actual rate for a 12500 dollar loan then a moneylender in Fond du Lac Wisconsin and that makes a huge clear gap in your monthly costs. Examine to see if the merchant bank who wants to give you a bank loan is good. Nowadays you can check over rates of interest quickly on the internet and realize if there are other conditions you should be aware of.

Photography Safaris Will Get You up Close

For those women that have never tried a walking safari in South Africa may find it hard to imagine the spectacular wildlife you will photograph. The folk who come to a wildlife safari are regular people like you and me, some are into photography, some holiday makers are into African animals but all of them are interested in a new fantastic experience.

The unbelievable thing about a safari is the fact it is so different from a normal holiday to Spain, there are very little families. Each African safari company will supply an English speaking tourist guide to take you through the beautiful areas of South Africa. The most popular wildlife you can see are eagles. The aforementioned phenomenal animals are not tame and of course don?t feed them. If you are interested in taking wildlife photographs of the cheetahs you should make sure you turn off the flash as you do not want to scare the wildlife. The fantastic animals in Southern Africa might put a huge grin on your face.

If you would love to ascertain more about wonderful safaris in South Africa you could use the search engine like Google to notice a company that offers safaris from the UK, the costs will probably range from four hundred pounds to 800 pounds. Kaingo offer a range of safari holidays in Africa.

RSS Provides Multiple Opportunities to Share Your Information

RSS content syndication is a relatively new member of the internet marketing family of campaign options. And, it seems as though new uses for RSS content are coming about very quickly. This is possibly due to recent changes in the way that major search engines like Yahoo! and Google want web site owners to advertise.

It seems like it shouldn’t matter to the search engines - the way you choose to market your website. But, it does when your link popularity begins to fall due to too many links on irrelevant web directories, etc. With RSS content syndication, you will not face that problem. And the better your content, the better the chances of increasing your standing with the search engines (not to mention your site visitors).

RSS feeds are no longer just appearing on the large news sites in order to show the latest headlines. They are appearing on internet-enabled cell phones, PDA and other mobile devices. The reason this is possible is the simple XML format used to produce the RSS feed. By using RSS syndication to spread the word about your site, you are now using one of the best advertising methods for reaching the “non-traditional” web browsers installed on these mobile devices.

Anyone familiar with web directory will understand the approach recommended for RSS syndication that I will term “many doors.” The many doors approach means that you are providing several different headlines for the SAME article! If you have done directory submissions, or worked with a directory submission service this is what you provided for anchor text and site descriptions.

So, you can see that while some level of time investment will be required… you will no longer need to generate huge numbers of SEO content in order to “trick” the search engines. As a matter of fact, you will probably want to concentrate your efforts on providing a few high-quality relevant articles that will gain and keep the attention of your site visitors.

You will need to generate content an update your website frequently if you want your RSS content syndication technique to be an effective form of marketing. Why?

The answer is simple, but often overlooked by those publishing RSS content for syndication. When site visitors become accustomed to looking at an RSS feed for teasers about new information they can use, and they notice that there have not been any new additions for a while they stop looking. If you decide that RSS content syndication is a good marketing tool for your site, understand that you are committing a small amount of time in order to draw and keep your web site traffic.

How often will I need to update? That is a question frequently asked by those new to the world of RSS marketing. It really depends on a few things. If you are publishing content about developments in the stock market, your readers may expect hourly updates. However, if you are publishing content on the week’s hottest new movies you could probably publish once a week and keep your readers happy. Of course, if you are syndicating RSS content about new books written on the topic of antique shoe stretches you may only need to publish content annually. This also points out another thought to consider.

If your content is so specific that it applies only to a limited group of people, then either RSS content syndication is not the right marketing technique for your web site or you need to expand your content offerings. If you find your website traffic lacking, why not try expanding your content to include a broader audience?

When you publish content on your website that you want your visitors to see, but you also want to make that same content available to others interested in the same subject area, RSS feed services provide a great and inexpensive way to expand your readership!

There are actually new search engines (Example, Feedster) that are in place with the purpose of allowing people to search for syndicated content that can be placed on their RSS feeds in order to provide a service to their web site visitors. Because there is such a service, there must be a need for this type of content! Therefore, listing your syndicated content with sites like Feedster will enable other web site owners seeking your information to find it.

Here is a short overview of what you need to do in order to get your content out there for RSS syndication:

First, you will need to compile a list of the content articles provided on your website with their headlines, URL and description. From this list, you will need to create a simple XML file (RSS format).

Second, you submit the XML file to services that make RSS syndicated content available for other users.

Third, you wait for approval of your RSS feed from each of the services.

Fourth, after you are accepted by a site you need to find out how often they will update their system with your latest XML RSS feed. You then need to ensure that you are updating your information at the appropriate time!

Finally, you need to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor! This is when you will begin to see increased traffic and sales to your site.

Conducting a Voice Over IP Readiness Assessment

2005 is predicted to be the year of voice over IP (VoIP) solutions for a growing number of corporate enterprises - both large and small.

If you have been considering the benefits of implementing VoIP, you are certainly not alone. In its just-published “2005 Telecommunications Report,” Harris Interactive found that 87% of business decision-makers are familiar with VoIP and, of that number, 12% currently use it in their organizations.

    So what’s the big attraction?

Cost mainly. But lowering company telecom expenses is just one aspect of the lure of implementing VoIP solutions. Other advantages include the potential for value-added services and the capability of more advanced features made possible through the integration of voice and data (e.g. videoconferencing, advanced voicemail features, etc.)

Sounds good, but here’s the rub…it’s also been estimated that up to 85% of corporate networks are simply not ready to handle VoIP.

Combining voice with data is a tricky proposition. After decades of getting used to near-perfect sound quality delivered over traditional voice networks, even the slightest delays in voip can be very annoying.

Before diving in to a full-blown VoIP solution, it is advisable that you conduct a voice over IP readiness assessment of your existing network. This assessment will provide you with two very important pieces of information:

    The capability of your existing data network to deliver high-quality voip calls, and;
the ability to evaluate the quality of these calls during a wide variety of traffic scenarios.
Keep in mind that most data networks were not designed for VoIP, so chances are that some upgrading of your existing network will be necessary. One critical requirement for VoIP to work is QoS. (Short for Quality of Service, a networking term that specifies a guaranteed throughput level). For QoS to work, the routers and switches that manage the data traffic flow in your network must be able to prioritize VoIP data packets via QoS.

4 Steps to a Successful VoIP Readiness Assessment

    1. Conduct a complete inventory of your existing network. Identify routers, switches and links in your network and store their configuration data in a database. This step is crucial before you can move to step 2.

    2. Determine the current CPU, memory and bandwidth of your network devices, routers and switches. This information will give you a “baseline” of your existing network infrastructure and current capacity.

    3. Simulate and compare VoIP usage scenarios to estimate the call capacity of the network.

    4. Determine how well VoIP will perform on your network by measuring simulated VoIP traffic and calculating call quality based on a Mean Opinion Score (MOS).

We have recently added a VoIP bandwidth calculator tool to help you determine various codec, MOS, and bandwidth scenarios.

While VoIP can ride over the highways that your data currently does, it is a new application with new rules. A VoIP readiness assessment will give you the information you need to incorporate a VoIP solution without unnecessary hassles and expenses due to lack of proper planning and research.

    Poker and Lipstick

In the beginning there was poker, and it was good. Then the popularity of the game drove it to television, and it was ok, but not great. Sure it was fun, in a couch potato kind of way, to see guys sitting around a table playing cards, but it was difficult to really get inside the game. Everything changed in 2003 when the Travel Channel improved their coverage of the World Poker Tour by adding the now ubiquitous lipstick cameras. These small devices sit inside the rim of a poker table and give the viewer an inside look at a player’s pocket cards. Suddenly, watching Texas Holdem was not about the outcome, but about the strategy. Bluffing styles could be analyzed, odds could be calculated and the poker announcers finally had the ability to weigh in with meaningful commentary. If you want to start your own poker TV station, be prepared to spend around $2300 for a lipstick camera setup. The camera itself runs around $450, weighs maybe half an ounce, is 2 inches long and less than a half inch in diameter. But you will also need cables and a Computer Control Unit, or CCU, to power the camera and to make sure that the only muck is on the table, not on the screen.
