  • Reading-The Best 15 minutes You’ll Ever Invest

I recently was made aware of two comparative statistics that I thought you might find extremely valuable. I learned that the average American reads less than 2 books per year- one and a half to be exact, with almost two thirds of those going unfinished. On the whole, Americans have lost the habit of reading good books.

There is a notable exception, however. CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies read, on average, roughly FOUR BOOKS PER WEEK! That equates to about 200 times the average for the rest of America, and I can guarantee that the vast majority of those books are good, meaty stuff that causes them to think about their business and/or their Life in a very healthy way.

Now I am not saying that you yourself need to start reading 4 books a week, but I will tell you this- I have personally seen that there is a direct and positive correlation between the amount of good reading an individual does and their influence and income. Unquestionably, the most life-changing habit you can develop is to systematically read good books. Charlie “Tremendous” Jones coined the phrase that “Leaders are always Readers”. Our friend Brian Tracy has seen it happen many times where an individual went from zero to 30 minutes a day of good reading and saw their income double, and we’ve seen it too. If you do not currently make positive reading a regular part of your Life- DO SO IMMEDIATELY!!!! Along with changing who you spend your time with, it is absolutely the most powerful way to change your life for the better.

Don’t get me wrong- I realize that you need to work, spend time with your family and engage in all the great activities that you engage in, and you should. You don’t need to become a full time student or some kind of hermit bookworm crazy person. All you need is 15 minutes a day, preferably right in the beginning or right at the end of that day. And don’t give me any crap about not having 15 minutes a day- if I followed you around for one day, I’d bet $1000 that I could find a whole hour that could be better spent reading and you wouldn’t even miss it. Watching TV, surfing the internet, eating lunch, just zoning out, the list goes on and on- I dare you to take just 15 minutes out of those kinds of activities each day and invest it in a good book. I promise that over a very short period.

Adult Halloween Costumes for Mature Trick or Treating!

Getting the kids dressed up for Halloween can be a highlight of the autumn season. Dressing up in costume has been a tradition for many cultures of the world for a variety of reasons. But it’s not just for the children anymore.

There are many reasons for adults to enjoy the fun of dressing up in their own costumes. Take Mardi Gras, for example. Participants spend all year creating an alternative identity. They will frolic in the streets in celebration of the coming of spring, or to enjoy the free flowing kegs and endless parades.

Another traditional costume party event is the masquerade ball. Lost in time, this gala created a flirtatious evening for the high society with a kiss-and-don’t-tell theme.

Today’s costume parties are probably a little closer to either the Mardi Gras or Halloween celebrations. It is fun to dress in costume, while assuming a surrogate self. Participants can do things they wouldn’t ordinarily try to get away with.

You may wonder how you are going to acquire the right costume attire for your occasion. You may choose the retail route, or decide to create your own if you have the ability.

One of the best ways to find the right costume is through internet retailers. Of the many retailers on the web, there are traditional costume suppliers, and some not so traditional.

For an extra flirtatious costume idea, try one of the many lingerie dealers. They have some sexy options for your adult party or just for time at home with a loved one. Ever want to feel like superwoman? Why not buy her outfit? You will definitely be a hit with your partner!

Some other sexy ideas are catwoman, a French maid, or a school girl outfit. There are limitless ideas for you to choose, if you can choose just one. These costume ideas will bring some added excitement to an ordinarily blah event.

Taking the time to shop for an elegant costume will have its rewards in the end. Good luck finding the right one for your desires.

Robb Ksiazek is a successful author and publisher for http://www.lingerie-4u.biz. He has researched and written hundreds of articles and can simplify your online search by recommending merchants for the best value and selections in quality lingerie, stockings, panties, and bra intimates.

Reach Your Goals - Step Into Your Own Truth

Create a truth and step into it

There is a saying in self-help circles that states, “Your mind can’t take a joke.” What this means is that whatever you believe to be true is true, at least as far as your mind is concerned. One dramatic example of this is what most people refer to as psychosomatic illnesses. There are many examples of this, such as false pregnancies and allergies that trigger severe, life-threatening reactions when the person believes (incorrectly) they have come into contact with the allergen. On a more psychological note, people who constantly repeat negative beliefs in their mind (I’m too ugly to attract men, my boss hates me, I will never be successful) create a reality where what they think is what they experience, unfortunately reinforcing the very belief that created the problem in the first place.

Although this can create problems for the people who suffer from the negative aspects of the phenomenon, you can harness the positive side of this extraordinary power for your own use by creating a truth and then stepping into it. For example, creating a powerful and professional website, complete with all the whiz-bang features of the big boys, creates a truth in the mind of your customers that you are one of the big boys and they will treat you as such, encouraging you to respond in kind.

Set yourself up with the trappings of success as it relates to your goal, behave as you would expect a successful person to behave and speak and think of your success in the present tense rather than future tense - and almost imperceptibly, you will step into the truth that you have created. Before you know it, you will be what you behave yourself to be, because your mind (which, let’s face it, creates your reality as you know it on a very tangible level) can’t tell the difference between, as it were, a Hollywood set and a real house. Make that ability work for you.

Giving Others the Benefit of the Doubt

There’s a saying in aikido, “There are many lessons on the mat.” It means that when we’re practicing aikido we’re not just learning aikido, we’re also learning about life. For example, when someone grabs my wrist too hard and I get angry but don’t say anything, I eventually learn that it would be more useful to ask him not to grab so hard. I may also notice that it’s difficult for me to ask for what I want in other places in my life, that I suffer needlessly because of it, and that I blame others and justify my blaming instead of taking action. Many lessons . . .

I swim daily and notice that I have a new saying, similar to the aikido one, that goes “There are many lessons in the pool.” Every day I seem to have another internal learning adventure.

An example of this is the lane partner dilemma. Some swimmers are easy and quiet as they cut through the water; others splash. Some swim straight and stay in their own part of the lane, leaving plenty of room. Others flail and lunge, seemingly unaware that there is anyone else around. Just like in aikido, with some partners cooperation is easy. As if we were dancing, we know the timing and the moves and we flow easily with each other. With others it’s messy, and we’re stepping on each other’s toes all the time. Ever feel this way? At the pool, as in aikido, I find I can make the situation messier or easier depending on my attitude and actions.

Lesson #1: I am given many dance partners in life. Whether the dance is easy or difficult is influenced at least in part by me.

    Please Pick Another Lane.

Which brings me to Lesson #2. One of the “difficult partners” seems to like to swim with me. I can’t figure it out. Even when there’s an empty lane, he gets in mine. He swims more slowly than I do, so I have to wait for him or double back so as not to “pass” him, which we’re not allowed to do at our pool. He splashes and his swimming is erratic, his arms swinging way out to the side and occasionally accidentally hitting me. When I see him coming I think, Oh no, please pick another lane. But he doesn’t.

One morning I came to the pool late and this gentleman was already swimming. There was an open lane next to his, and I sat on the edge and was doing my warm-ups when he came up for air. He looked over and motioned to me that he was getting out and I could have his lane. I thanked him but stayed where I was. I had a lane. He explained that he really liked his lane because there were no jets gushing water into the pool. The jets are very strong and bother him. The lane he was in - the lane I usually swim in - doesn’t have them. Aha! I say to myself. He doesn’t get into my lane just to annoy me. He dislikes the other lanes. And now he’s trying to give me the “good” lane. What a nice person!

Lesson #2: It’s not always about me.

    The Benefit of the Doubt.

A third lesson from the pool is that people surprise me if I let them. Recently I got into the hot tub (”many lessons in the hot tub”) to relax after my swim. There was a man in there swishing his legs back and forth really hard, churning the water into waves. I closed my eyes and leaned against the edge of the tub and tried to mellow out. Impossible. I opened my eyes and looked at him, hoping he would see that he was disturbing me. Oblivious. I closed my eyes again. Getting worse. I was practically drowning in the churning hot water. I opened my eyes and looked again. Oblivious. I sighed out loud. Nope.

Okay, time to either get out of the tub or say something. I remembered that curiosity usually works better than accusation, and I asked, “Is that an exercise you’re doing?” He noticed me and smiled - a really nice smile - and said that yes, it was an exercise recommended by his doctor. He used to jog, loved jogging, but his knees could no longer support that activity. In fact, his knees could barely support walking, and swimming was one of the few things that helped; the swooshing motion strengthened the ligaments. He went on to talk about jogging, swimming, disappointment and his efforts to reinvigorate his knees and stay in shape. What a nice man, I thought.

Lesson #3: People usually have a positive intention. Give them the benefit of the doubt.

The benefit of the doubt: what does it mean? What doubt? Well, as I swim up and back and up and back I think it must mean giving other people the benefit that derives from doubting my preconceived notions about their motives. Is he really getting in my lane just to annoy me? Probably not. Is he churning up the water to keep others out? I think I’ll doubt that assumption and see what happens.

Usually what happens is that I discover a genuinely nice person behind the fog of my assumptions and have a really fun swim.

    Why Is Algebra Relevant?

    Algebra as a Science

Algebra scientific discipline is the branch of mathematics that is concerned about the study of structure, relation, and quantity. Algebra addresses working with numbers, variables, sets of elements and also vectors as in linear algebra. You can believe algebra as one of the greatest branches of mathematics, if not the greatest. Algebra includes classes such as Linear algebra, Universal algebra and Algebraic geometry.

    Require Help in Studying Algebra?

Different software applications have been published to help students studying algebra at unique levels, such software help pupils to go through their courses gradually and develop algebraic problem solving techniques . These software applications cover nearly all algebraic modules such as solving and graphing different types of non-linear equations , formulas and radical inequalities. Such equations like quadratic, simultaneous, exponential, radical and linear equations will be simply, quickly and efficiently solved using these software applications. These applications most probably will contain an algebraic tutorial and a wizard too; Moreover, algebra calculators facilitate a lot of algebraic processes for students pursuing mathematics.

    The Big Picture on Algebra

many students constantly wonder why we study algebra; they see no connection or benefit. Well, if we were to talk about benefits of algebra, then it has both direct and indirect benefits, which I think, algebra students should be aware of. The indirect benefit of studying algebra could be looked at as of help in working the brainpower in an coordinated design. For the direct benefit, algebra has a plenty of uses in different scientific disciplines and businesses.

Actually, algebra applications cover a lot of real life aspects such as in industrial arenas, for example in robotics research or rocket science. It is also used, in various science researches like physics, quantum mechanics, Informatics and even in the military; one such aspects which will be considered briefly in this article is the algebra applications in programming.

    Algebra and IT

Comparative algebra constructs were the basis for the relational database concept. Also, simple algebra was used in constructing of complex XML models and building up XML database management systems. Moreover, we can pinpoint usage of algebra for ROM-based Procedural Language and ALF- Algebraic Logic Functioning programming language. Many other sophisticated programming languages developed for the aim of solving algebraic problems as AML-Algebraic Modeling Language, where this language describes the complicated problem, such as composite optimization problems, then calls particular external algorithms to solve the problem.

Creating Magic: Beliefs and Make-Believe, A Life and Holiday Season Make-Over

Where’s the magic? When was the last time you got up in the morning brimming with excitement, unable to keep still because of all the exuberant possibilities that the day ahead was holding for you? All those fun adventures, mischievous plans, playful projects…

Kids will often experience this kind of unbearable excitement for the day ahead - for life itself. They have not yet taken on so many beliefs about life that many of us, adults, have accumulated over the years. What are your beliefs, the messages playing in your head? Tune in, look at what’s there.

Is it something like: life is hard; you don’t get anything for free; you work hard and then you die; it’s always a struggle; you have to pay your dues; you have to take things seriously; life isn’t fair; my life stinks; I never get a break…? You’ve probably had these, or other variations of such thoughts spinning through your mind at various points - either consciously or not.

And what’s the experience - in your emotions, in your body - from these thoughts? Probably something like a heaviness, a slowness, constriction in your body, along with hopelessness, isolation, sadness, anger…

(And even now, notice your experience in your body and your energy level as you read this - I would bet that your emotions and body sensations have changed even from the beginning of this article! That’s what focusing on these messages does.)

We, adults, often miss the main, critical point here. This is that our beliefs, even those we hold as the truth and are really attached to, are just that - beliefs that we hold as truth and are really attached to. The truly amazing thing is that as humans, we totally have the power to shift our beliefs, and our points of view - and thus our whole reality as we perceive it.

Lofty words, perhaps, but a very powerful concept.

Lets take the impending holiday season as an example. What are your beliefs about the holidays? Often we hear things like: it’s a zoo out there; I hate dealing with family drama, and there’s always family drama; there’s never enough time to do everything, and certainly no time left for me; everything has to be perfect; I wish it were just over already; I hate dealing with the budgets, the craziness, the commercialisms of it all; and on and on and on.

Yet, do you see - all of these are just beliefs, just ways of focusing your attention. And how bizarre that most of us will choose to focus our attention outside of ourselves, to fall victim to circumstance. Yet, it is not the external circumstances that truly affect us - it is our beliefs about those circumstances. And here’s the key - there are always things you can do to change these beliefs, and to re-focus your attention. I guarantee it - this will change your whole outlook and reality. Even if no outward changes take place.

For example: sure, there’s commercialism aplenty this time of year, and it can get to you. How about switching off the TV and doing your shopping on the internet instead? Yea, family drama can erupt this time of year. But how about re-focusing on the gratitude of having people in your life to share the holidays with? Of course, budgets can be strained by gift-buying. Why not brainstorm fun and inexpensive gift ideas - maybe create a cooking or arts project with your kids or your best friend and make your own unique holiday gifts?

The possibilities are endless. Your attention, where you focus your energy, will determine what kind of holiday season you’ll have. It’s your choice - a bah- humbug grumpy season, or a creative and joyful magical time (or anything in between)!

    Plant the Seeds:

    1. What are your beliefs about life? Take a moment, and see what messages play in your head.

    2. What are your beliefs about the holidays? What do you keep telling yourself and other folks close to you about the holidays?

    3. What can you re-focus your attention on to bring the joy back?

    4. Begin to notice your body sensations and emotions. Name them. They are likely pointing you to an unhelpful belief or thought process.

    5. Finally - re-read the first paragraph of this article, and connect with that mischievous, magical, excited place inside. From here, what actions can you take this holiday season to make it fun and special?
