  • River Spots to Bet

River Spots to Bet Some poker online experts say to never bet the river if you are not holding the absolute nuts. That’s because if you’re called, you are most likely beaten. However, the river does sometimes offer good betting opportunities to pick up the pot. When you have a online poker hand with good showdown value, then consider betting the river when: 1. The board has given you a decent hand, like top pair with a good kicker, and has a texture for a flush or straight draw that the river completely misses. For instance, two suited cards come on the flop making a flush draw possible. But no other Everest Poker FR cards of that suit materialize so an opponent drawing to the flush is finished. 2. If a scare card appears - one that pairs a low card on the board - it is unlikely it helped your opponent. A value bet here could force the fold. 3. You have intentionally showed some bluffs to make your play unpredictable. This will prompt some bluff catching calls against your river bet, and builds a bigger pot for you to scoop. 4. You are playing cards at the weak edge of your usual starting range, such as 9-Jh, and the board holds 9-2-5-7 with a 10 on the river. Betting for thin value here often will win the pot.

Beyond Tournament Skill - Tips on How to Make it to the Money

Winning poker tournaments take both skill and a bit of luck. There are other factors to consider too and that is your discipline and attitude.

When you are playing tournaments, especially those likely to last for a long time, keep these tips in mind:

    * No alcoholic beverages - if you’re there to really win, then you have to keep your thinking sharp. Alcohol impairs judgment.

    * Stay hydrated and nourished - either bring water and snacks with you or take breaks and buy some.

    * Practice patience - one wrong move can cost you the tournament. Smart poker players never chase. Instead, they wait for good hands and play them aggressively. Be selective about what hands you play.

    * Stay focused. When you re not involved in a hand - and you won’t be in most - then pay attention to what the others players do and how they play hands. Try to recognize patterns and predict what they are holding.

    * Don’t enter an online poker tournament unless you are rested and basically feel good. You are going to need some stamina to last.

    * Resist the suicide impulse to go all-in when you feel frustrated or just unbeatable when you get pocket Aces. Any hand can be beat. Give careful though to shoving before you do go all-in.

    * Plan for luck to come your way. Everyone gets lucky once in a awhile. Most likely you will hit a few lucky hands, so stay calm and think about how to maximize the chips you win.

    Post-Flop Tips

You’re in a poker game and are dealt suited connectors. The flop brings you a draw to complete a straight. What do you do now? You can either fold, call or raise. All three actions have pros and cons. You can justify any choice.

How do you decide which action to take? Keep these guidelines in mind when making your post-flop decision with a drawing hand:

    * Checking may seem weak and prompt aggressive online poker players to raise. On the other hand, a check may let you see the turn card for free.

    * Calling a bet is a passive move but it is the only way to see another card that could complete you hand. If your draw hits, it will likely pay off many times the amount of the bet you have to call.

    * Raising is an aggressive tactic since you gain fold equity and may force others off the pot. It helps set up a bluff too if your drawing cards do not materialize. When called, then you stand to win an even bigger pot if your draw completes.

    * Folding is generally the worst option to choose when you are on a good draw post-flop. When you’ve got good pot odds, it makes sense to call a minimum bet rather than fold. Occasionally though, folding is the right option. Fold if your opponent’s chip stack in a cash game is so small as to not be worth risking your own chips. If a online poker player, especially a tight one, comes out firing with a raise, then recognize you are probably already up against a set or two pair. When the board is paired, a drawing hand loses strength, and most often should be folded.

    Be Afraid to Play Scared

There’s a saying in online poker that goes, “Scared money is dead money.” What that means is that some players are always afraid of running into disaster so they fold easily, even after they have contributed to the pot. Basically, they flee the contest and leave behind “dead money” for live players to capture.

These types of players are called “weak tight” because they are so willing to concede their bets to any raise. They will only bet with very good hands, making them easy to read. Their betting patterns are predictable and aggressive players look to attack their weakness to scoop up pots of dead money.

It is wise to sometimes stick to tight play at the table, especially when up against very loose players. However, a player who is so tight as to avoid any pot confrontation is weak and easily victimized when up against seasoned players who know how to size up their opponents.

Weak tight play is best saved for the low limit, loose games - often call ‘no-fold ‘em” poker. These are the games where multiple players go to the river looking to make a bad beat. In these situations, it’s best to fold any time the flop misses your hand. Chasing down cards will cost you chips most of the time. Let go of your dead money and wait for a hand that looks to be a winner, then take a strong stance and raise it against all the loose callers. Remember this when you play poker online.

    Imitation Is a Poor Strategy

The poker games featured on television often have high level professionals, such as Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, Daniel Negreanu and others, playing for big stakes. These televised games have helped to make poke as popular as it is today. They are also very misleading and make poker online look like an easy means to make money, when nothing could be further from the truth.

Newcomers to the game don’t understand the many subtle nuances of poker. The professionals have been playing against each other for years, and they have deeper insights into what cards to play against which opponents and which to fold. Sometimes it seems as though these poker pros are playing in crazy ways, often betting with rags to bluff out their opponents. And often, it works for them.

This type of sophisticated play is beyond the grasp of amateurs who are better off sticking to the principles of sound poker playing - selective aggression with strong cards. Televised poker typically shows the hands that are most dramatic and surprising - it creates a more interesting broadcast. What is not shown is the long hours at the casino online table where these professionals grind away to make it the final table, where the tactics and skill levels are advanced.

It’s fine to try some of the tricky moves you see on TV when playing in a friendly home game or for low stakes, but when there are serious amounts of money involved, stick to sound poker strategy.

    Giving up in a Hand

Sometimes, in a online poker hand, you just have to give up. While firing bets into a pot with nothing can in the right spot cause you opponent to fold and let you win when you had no chance otherwise, other spots will dictate that no matter what you do, you can’t win.

This means (a) that your poker online opponent has a hand he’s not going anywhere with and (b) you can’t draw out. Recognizing these spots for what they are before you continue to fire is important in saving chips from being bluffed off, and instead saving them for another hand.

Realizing that you have to give up on a hand might come when you have fired twice into a pot on a draw or a bluff and don’t connect and your opponent is still hanging around. Though sometimes firing the fourth barrel bluff will end up taking the pot down, other spots prove that it might be better just to put on the brakes and wait. If your opponent has exhibited every sign that he has a monster, or you’d been betting on the come against a clearly made hand and you don’t make it and no scare cards come, your odds of bluffing out of the situation are clearly lesser than the value that might be added by the chance of your opponent’s tough fold.

Sometimes you just have to let it go at the casino.

    Gut Shot Draws

A gut shot straight draw in online poker is when a player has four cards to a straight but there is only one card they can hit to make the draw. A gut shot draw is often not considered of enough value to continue in a pot without improving or a pair to go along with it, though it is a small consideration of added value, and if the draw hits it is much less likely that you opponent will be able to read that you had that draw. An example of a gut shot draw in poker would be where you are holding 8 10 of any suit and the board includes a 6 7, wherein it would require a nine and a nine only to win the pot. In this instance, assuming that you have no overcards to an opponent’s pair, you have only four outs to win the pot. Other combinations of board cards that could create a gut shot draw with the 8 10 hole cards include 6 9, which would require a 7 for the straight, J Q, which would require a 9 for the straight also, and so on. Some players like to bet into a board with gut shot draws when they are checked to, even though if raised they will often not have enough value in the poker hand to call. Gut shots are also one way that slowplaying a monster hand that is not the nuts can backfire on a player, as it is very hard to give your opponent credit for a hand of such a nature.

Buying Your Individual Winning Lotto Tickets Has Never Been so Accessible for the European Lottery

Have you ever so inquired what the easiest means to play European Lotto is?

How could you profit as much as possible? Or even to scoop a Euro Lotto Jackpot?

Hence what can you do to advance your chances?

Lots of people simply leisurely walk across the high street and purchase their so called lotto tickets. In the hope of winning. But the prospects of winning the lotto are one in a few of millions…not really hopeful, do you think?

Well now, according to the Euro Millions statistics, 2/3 of Lottery Jackpot winners are lotto syndicates!

Thus, we all see the answer. Obviously you will have a stronger chance to acquire the Jackpot if you belong to a lottery syndicate.

    How lotto syndicates function?

A Euromillions Syndicate is a group of people who pool their money and then buy as many lotto tickets as feasible. Each ticket has distinct numbers; so that odds are greater than playing as an individual.

If the e-lottery syndicate wins, every member receives a share from the profits. So that the more players that are in your e-lottery syndicate the better your individual opportunities are but; also your own pay out is lower.

You may just do a little survey on the internet, use - Bing, Google and Yahoo or possibly any other search engine. Or possibly you could see some in your own localized newspapers in classified advertisements section.

Or maybe you might decide to sign up to an e-lottery syndicate

    There are lots of reasons

    - You will acquire a pro service
    - You will not miss a lottery draw
    - You will receive detailed statistics in your players back office
    - Your Own lotto winnings are collected and you will have a MoneyBookers, Click2Pay or Cheque payment with your own percentage!

    - All this and more from the comfort of your own home

For me it means that the lotto syndicate exercises an established mathematical system and that assures that you will match at least one lotto number in every draw.

Plus, that means that even your individual percentage from Euro syndicate winnings is greater than you would win taking part in same lotto numbers on your own!

And in conclusion, that means you can become an affiliate partner and then after qualifying for some easy achievable requirements you can be taking part in your favorite Euro Lotto syndicate in effect for free…or possibly you can be effectively building your own new income while playing lottery.

    The decision is yours:

The option is yours - Play on your own. Or play the smarter way:

Take Part in a Euro Lottery syndicate and win much more often.

Or possibly be even wiser and:

Enter in a Euro Lottery syndicate and win more often and cover your lottery ticket price and play for free and bring in an extra income.

Developing Bowler’s Heaven on Earth, a Social Bowling Lanes

Are you a Nintendo Wii bowler willing to play this intricate sport with new respect. If you accept bowling is your situation, you’ve stumbled upon a major beginning in learning the game as a serious bowling competitor. Listen up, because this guide to “Bowling Like a Pro” shouldn’t be ignored. An expert at your city’s bowling pro shop can help bowlers to uncover bowling skills. It’s no surprise, roll strikes if can spare ‘em (hehe). Just kidding. Okay, bowling is a simple game with not-so simple details. Don’t fret, our bowling experts have you bowling the best way we know how.

It’s not a big purchase, invest a little in the specialized equipment at your bowling pro shop! It’s not a sales pitch, it actually matters. I promise, have your own ball fitted, and you can make more of your practice time. A properly selected bowling ball can make a substantial improvement in your game. The same goes for sliding out your final step in quality bowling shoes which are in good condition.

Now that you already found your supplies, now it’s time for the second best bowling tip: how to aim. While you wait to roll, don’t actually aim for your actual target, the pins. Aim for the the arrows like a barrel of a gun. Never thought of this? It is easier to hit a target a good deal closer. To take full advantage, make sure you stand in the exact spot on the floor on every attempt. With that consistency you can perfect your marksmanship.

What do you make of massive hooks on the ball, for proper speed and ball control? It is our bowling tip #3. The secret is the pricy reactive ball. Many pros bowl and regularly roll two or three bowling balls to pull off amazing pin action, depending on the lane. Just a bit of caution: intermediates might want to work with just one, and steer clear of a ball that is too heavy for you. A lot of serious bowlers use bowling balls with extra materials. Steer clear of them, because these special-made balls often make even moderately good bowlers seem a fool. With these tips you’re on the right track. Rest assured you’ll find shortly.

    Thanks, Edward Allen

I roll strikes for Team “Gipper” a group from a league for Bowling Pro Shop just outside Las Vegas. I dispense guidance to novice bowlers on the web and at the lanes. Also, I gotta wave hello at all my heavy rollers back home. Knock ‘em dead.

    Building Your Poker Bankroll

Obviously, one of the most important parts of playing poker is bankroll management. Every guidebook and every poker website out there stresses that you need to practice effective bankroll management s at the poker table.

If you are considering going pro, you need up to build up that bankroll before you start understanding the different ways to manage it. If you don’t happen to have a small fortune, you will need to slowly put aside small amounts of money until you have enough to hit the casino. But how much, exactly, is enough?

Well, that all depends on your game of choice. As a general rule, you should always have 200 times the biggest possible bet at your table. This is when your personal preference comes in. If you like low limit tables, you will obviously need a smaller bankroll. But even if you like a medium limit game like $10/$20, you will need a bankroll of $4000 before even considering going pro. While it may seem like a lot at first, it is absolutely pivotal that you start off with that much. It is important that you have a large enough bankroll to guard against any losses. So take your time, build up your bankroll, and make sure you are ready before you make the decision to go pro.
