  • Building your modern website on your web design experience

I really enjoy building websites for a variety of reasons. I build sites to sell, I build pages for clients (copy writing) I ghostwrite content as well.

What I really enjoy however is the Web design portion of the show. I like coming up with unique designs for page templates and trying to figure out what would truly stimulate a site visitor yet maintaining the sites simplicity to a point where search engines don’t have a hard time crawling the page to index it.

The challenge is maintaining a great design that appeals to people and the Search engines collectively. It really is an art form as much as a skill set! Today’s website design is becoming so simple that even a child could build an amazing site with no skills in html at all.

If you think about it a child of about 9 years old could build a site using any of the modern editors (drag and drop essentially to build the page and the program builds the code/page) and could even outsource the content if he/she wanted to.

There are things preventing that such as needing to be 18 to get a paypal account (to pay your outsourced writers etc..) and such but the concept is illustrated in this example.

Web design is incredibly easy these days and there are even a lot of SEO (search engine optimization) tools build into some of the newer editors.

The best ones I think are the ones you find on the web that are web based editors that even upload your finished page to your hosting package!

How Can I Choose the Right Work at Home Based Business Opportunity?

There are so many work at home based businesses out there to choose from right now how do I know which one to go with? Every work at home based business opportunity that I have found seems to have a great plan and equally good products or services as well. So it is very difficult to decide which one to invest in. I suppose that I should do some research on the ones that I really like and then go from there. I know that all of them will take investment and time, but that I have, I just want to invest in the right one.

I have been looking for a good home business opportunity for awhile now and I think that I have finally found the one. With all of the different work at home based business opportunity programs available right now it isn’t that easy picking which one to go with. Every one of them takes time and financial investments, this I know and accept, but I don’t want to make these investments into the wrong program. I have seen several of these home opportunities that I like and they all have great products so I will have to flip a coin or something to make my final decision.

The Past, and Future, of London’s Trocadero Center

Since it opened in the 1800s, London’s Trocadero has seen a variety of entertainment come and go.

In the early days the building hosted a restaurant, but it’s also been home to an indoor tennis court. Concerts were staged here during the Great War, and a cabaret was an attraction for guests until the centre closed in the 60s.

As times change, so do tastes, and since its relaunch in the 80s, the complex has become a mecca for both tourists, and Londoners looking for some frivolous fun.

For entertainment, the centre provides old favourites, such as ten-pin bowling and pool. The more up to date attractions include almost five hundred video games, and simulated rollercoasters. There’s even a bumper car track, and for adults, a casino fills another floor of the building.

Cineworld provide a multiscreen cinema, with the usual range of Hollywood releases - so you can choose to keep your heartbeat racing with a thriller, or have a more sedate time with the latest romance.

An exhibition centre carries various displays. They’ve previously displayed artifacts saved from The Titanic, and more recently have launched an adult exhibition that celebrates “love, sexuality and relationships.”

Though it sounds packed already, the centre is preparing to undergo improvements, with new shops and a 471-bedroom hotel planned included in a £100m plan by property developer Asif Aziz.

The Trocadero has received some other publicity - it was mentioned by one of C. S. Lewis’ characters in The Chronicles of Narnia, and in 2003 a beauty parlor was installed for a reality TV show.

Finding The Trocadero is as simple as taking the tube to Piccadilly Circus, and following signs from the station.

    Federal Grants For Small Business

Starting your own enterprise is everyone’s dream. The main restraint is, of course, the money. The Federal government provides assistance for entrepreneurs who want to excel by means of grants under different schemes. This is particularly done in the case of small businesses, as small businesses can effectively improve the status of the economy at the grassroots level. The task is only to identify the right grant. The United States is the only country that gives billions of dollars as Federal grants and low-interest loans to further strengthen its strong economic base and infrastructure.

Many state development agencies, non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions and local governments award the loans for small businesses. These grants can be used to start any type of business. Those who want to develop their small business enterprises can also apply for these grants. To be eligible for the grant you should be an US citizen at least 18 years old. The grants can be from the federal government, state government or from the agencies. These grants do not require collateral security, credit checks or any security deposits.

The first step to obtain the grant is to find out the sources from which you can obtain the grant. Locate them in your locality or your state. A listing of the agencies can be had from the federal and state governments. Then comes the grant scheme for which you are eligible.

Another source from which you can find information regarding the grants is the website grants.gov. This website provides a one-stop opportunity to apply for grants. According to the website there are over 1,000 grant programs offered by 26 Federal grant-making agencies. Applying grants online can reduce many tedious processes.

Federal Grants provides detailed information on Federal Grants, Federal Pell Grants, Federal Government Grants, Federal Grants For Small Business and more. Federal Grants is affiliated with Government Business Grants.

    Before Starting A Business

For some people the idea of starting a business sounds like the worst idea in the world. They would rather work all the years of their life for someone else than even consider having a business of their own. For others, however, there is nothing more exciting than the thought of starting a business.

Many people dream of starting a business from the time they are young. These people love the idea of being creative and of selling products they believe in. They love the idea of convincing others to love the same things they love and they usually like the idea of working with money. Starting a business of their own sounds like the ideal way to spend years of their life.

If you’re one of these crazy people that dream of one day starting a business, you can begin the process by taking the time to ask yourself some important questions that will give you more understanding and direction of how to proceed. First, if you’re considering starting a business, try to brainstorm the kind of business that you would want to start. Do you dream of selling books or of having coffee shop, or is the idea of selling sporting equipment more your style? You see, you can have a business for just about anything, so it is important to narrow your ideas into a couple of focused ideas for starting a business. It is usually true that starting a business will go better if your business is focused on something that you love. Without passion you will not get very far with your dreams.

You should be a combination of realistic and idealistic when you’re making plans for starting a business. You have to have a real understanding of factors like money, time, and resources for your business, but you will never have the business you dream of if you wait until you have all of the details figured out. So allow yourself to get pretty detailed in your ideas for starting a business. Write out parts of starting a business that seem easy and possible and write out parts of starting a business that seem hard or like they could never happen.

Another important thing to do before you rush off in starting a business is to sit down with current business owners and learn everything they can teach you. Their years of trial and error will be invaluable to you as you seek to begin the process of starting a business yourself. Many have gone before you, so utilize their resources and be a learner.

Take steps of planning and preparation and your dream of starting a business can become a reality quicker than you’d expect.

Key Control or High Security Lock & Key Systems

    What is the risk?

Key control, or more accurately the lack of key control is one of the biggest risks that businesses or property owners face.

Without a key control system you cannot be sure who has keys or how many keys they have to your property. Not having a patent controlled key system leads to unauthorized key duplication, which leads to unauthorized access to your property or employee theft.

Most key control systems utilize patented keys and or cylinders, these lock cylinders employ very precise locking systems that can only be operated by the unique keys to that system. Because the cylinders and or the keys are patented, the duplication of keys can only be done by factory authorized professional locksmiths.

The key blanks and lock cylinders are made available only to those same factory authorized professional locksmiths. Procedures may be in place to allow you to contract with another security professional, should the need arise.

The control can be at the locksmith dealer level, at the distributor level, or at the manufacturer level.

All high security key control systems require specific permission to have keys originated or duplicated. These procedures assure the property owner or manager that they will always know who has keys and how many. If an employee leaves and you get the keys back, you can be reasonably assured that no copies of your keys are floating around.

Most systems have cylinders that will retrofit existing hardware, keeping the cost of acquisition lower. Some systems employ different levels of security within the system, still giving patented control, but not requiring ultra high security where it is not needed. These measures are again aimed at cost control.

Most systems can be masterkeyed, some will coordinate with existing master key systems. There are systems available that allow interchangable core cylinders that will retrofit existing interchangeable core systems.

Your Security Professional, can help you select the system most suited to your needs.

Seven Ways to Set Yourself Apart From Other Affiliate Marketers

Okay so you’ve read (fill in the blank with internet guru’s name here)’s book and decided that affiliate marketing is the way for you to earn some extra money online. I mean after all, all you have to do is plug in your name and run their ads and collect your commission check and ride off into the sunset, right? Not quite. With so many people promoting the exact same program as you, in the exact same ezines or on the exact same websites, you need some ways to distinguish yourself from the rest of the pack of affiliate marketers. Here are seven ways for you to do this.

    1. Host Your Own Website.

I know I sound like a broken record, but it is absolutely essential for you to have your own website. For starters you can have a domain name that is easy to remember. I mean can you remember http://www.areallylongaffiliatemarketersurl.com/?pid=123/r=4(My apologies if that url actually belongs to someone, I just made it up on the spot for an illustration)? I didn’t think so.

So if you can’t remember it and it’s your url, what makes you think your potential customer is going to remember it. Do you know what they are going to do? They are going to just chop off the stuff at the end and type in the main domain name and purchase the product from the main site. However if you have your own url, you could have a url like http://www.yourdomain.com which is much easier to remember and you can just point your visitors to your affiliate page in your website.

    2. Write Your Own Ads

Email the owner of your affiliate program and ask if you can write your own ads. Most of the time they will not have a problem with this, but you need to check with them first. A lot of times when I publish my ezine, I have published the same ad two or three times and I wanted to email the advertisers and say if only you had used your own ad. People become immune to ads after a while and if they see the same ads over and over again, they may just skip over it altogether. Your objective is to get people to click on your link and if your wording is different they just might stop and read your ad and be curious enough to click through to your website.

    3. Have some products of your own that are only available through your website.

Once you have your website going, it is important to have some products or services that your customers can’t find at your affiliate site. You want your customers to keep coming to your site and the best way to do that is to have something on your site that they can’t find on the affiliate site.

    4. Cultivate your own list.

It’s much easier to sell to people that you have already built a relationship with. That’s one reason why it is important to build your own list. You may also be able to earn some money from your list in the form of advertising.

    5. Buy the product you are marketing.

When you buy the product you are marketing, you can sell it better. You can tell the potential customer what a great experience you had with the product. This will make them interested enough to buy the product. You will also be able to provide support if necessary or write a tutorial on how to use the product that you are marketing.

    6. Be totally honest

If you find out that the program you were promoting is a scam, stop promoting it and inform your readers about it. This will help you build credibility with your lists. We all make mistakes and admitting your mistake will boost your readers confidence in you.

    7. Don’t try to market everything you see.

With services such as clickbank, it is easy to become overwhelmed and try to market everything in the clickbank marketplace. That is not a good idea. It’s better to focus on one market and market products that they would want. This is called niche marketing. The last thing you want to do is to bombard your subscribers with pitches for products. That is one surefire way to lose subscribers.

Affiliate marketing is definitely here to stay and it can become a great way to earn extra or even part time income. However, it won’t happen overnight. Like everything else in life, you’re going to have to put a lot of hard work into it. Good luck to you in your new venture.

Top Ten Ways to Increase Visibility for your Coaching Business

What everybody wants. Consistent, full-load clients. You can reach this goal by creating the following then ways to get your service more visible.

    1. Know your business defining statement. Have this short sound bite ready to use at networking meetings. Like an elevator speech, you must send a clear message of who you are, what your business does and the benefits of it.

    2. Power up your signature file. Does it inspire your reader to take action? Always include your contact information, a free offer such as an ezine or special report. Make sure you put your defining statement under your name. Potential clients don’t care about the initials after your name. They care what you can do for them. Automate your signature file so it’s on every email you send out-a really soft way to sell yourself.

    3. Create a short and longer sales letter for your service. Send out the one page version via email when you get an inquiry. Post the longer 5-15 page version on your Web site with a link to an order page or 800 number to make it easy for potential clients to connect. Each sales letter should include benefit-driven headlines, testimonials, and a guarantee.

    4. Write short tip and how to articles. Submit these as a complimentary report to your email lists each two weeks. Leverage the same article. Subscribe to five or so opt-in ezines in your field. Then submit to them. These publishers want your original information for their subscribers. When the subscribers read them and like what you say, they will flock to your Web site.

    5. Write a talk about one aspect of your service. It can include why your information is so important to your client’s success, or a client’s story about a particular challenge, and how you solved it. One client wrote a book and talk on coaching mastery and shared how coaches can let go of their own agenda to be a better coach.

    6. Present mini one-hour talks to local organizations in your city. Sell your self, service, or book from the platform. Always collect the audience’s email addresses via an offer for your free ezine or a free report.

    7. Create an ezine to stay in touch with your clients. Besides giving useful information such as how to tips, resources, and your special message, include an opportunity to buy one of your products, a group coaching, or teleclass.

    8. Write a short print or eBook. You don’t need to write and end all, be all book. Today people want a short read. They don’t have time to read long books loaded with stories. They want their information fast and easy-to-read. A book coach can help you make each page of your book market itself as well as create compelling chapters, well organized and well formatted. Knowing these will make a much more saleable book that your clients read cover to cover, then give you glowing testimonials.

    9. Choose two-to three favorite ways to market first. Put all of your effort into these. Refine your ezine; gather a group of five to ten articles, and a one-hour talk. Put as much time into marketing as you have with training, reading, or research.

    10. Rewrite your Web site, especially the home page if you are not attracting three-five new clients a month. Your Web visitors are not attracted to sites that say, “Welcome,” “My mission is…” or “About me” such as a long bio. They want to know what’s in it for them and you must capture their interest within 10 seconds or they will surf to another site. Your home page needs well-honed headlines that lead to the sales letter for each product or service.

Just think of the time you put into your training and refining your skills for coaching. When you realize that only marketing and promotion attracts new clients to you, isn’t that what you need to do now?

Can One Really Make Money Working At Home?

How can one make money working from home? Is it really as hard as other people make it to be. In all honesty, yes, depending on what you plan on doing.

There has been a lot of hype around working from home. You can say goodbye to the boss and start your own business, be in control of your own life. Many people do not realize how hard it is to be your own boss. Can you really get yourself to do all the things you need to make a living?

The Benefits of Working At Home To Make Money

You can work from home. That’s the good part about it. You can make money working at home in your pajamas. The kids could be in the next room. No more day care costs! Imagine being able to cook your own lunch, and have as much time off as you wish.

Besides time off, you save a bundle on car maintenance, gas, out to lunch expenses, day care, babysitters and more. It could add up to thousands of dollars that you save every year.

Also, working from home seems to be less stressful. Without having to put on airs, you can relax and get more work done at home than you can at an office.

But what is the down side to working from home and trying to make your own money there?

The Pitfalls of Working at Home to Make Money

You can start by thinking of all the actual work you have to do. Can you discipline yourself to stop watching TV and get to work?

In addition, work at home jobs are so coveted, it’s an out right war at time for positions. Are you able to handle the competition? Can you prepare a resume that will stand out from everyone else?

Do you have the skills that will help you succeed?

In addition, there may be lower pay than what you are used to. There also may be no benefits to speak of.

There is no one there to tell you what to do. If you are starting a home business, you will have to do your own research and all the work. There are no other employees that will pick up the slack when you are sick. Did I mention no paid sick days either?

Will You Choose To Make Money Working From Home?

Working from home isn’t for everyone. Some people prefer to get out of the house. They like the office politics and to have the chance to talk to adults once in a while. If you are working from home, you are often alone at a computer.

On the other hand, you may be interested in being at home with the kids or for other reasons. Whatever you choose, try testing it out first to see if it is right for you. Perhaps pick up a part time job online and see how it works with you. You never know until you try.

Google’s AdSense Program: How You Can Make Money JUST By Writing About A Topic You Love

Many people wonder how on earth they could earn money if they
ran their own web site but didn’t actually *sell* anything. If
you have no products or services to sell then where does the
    money come from?

Well the answer is that you can make money in lots of ways when
you run a web site - and **selling products and/or services** is
not only just one option but also one of the most
labour-intensive options, at least if the products are not
electronic (i.e. if they are hard goods or services).

The problem is that many people stick to what they know - bricks
‘n’ mortar - high street shops who sell products that you can
hold and feel, or professionals (such as accountants or lawyers)
    who sell their services.

It’s plain to see where the money comes from there: from the
    products and services on offer!

But does that mean that YOU have to have products or services to
sell if you want to make your own money online?

    No!

The Internet offers so many more ways in which you can make
    money!

    —— SIDE NOTE ——

For an explanation of some of the different ways you can earn
    money online visit:

    http://www.sleepydust.net/different-ways-you-can-make-money.html<
    /a>

    —— SIDE NOTE ——

And one of the easiest yet effective ways of earning money
online is by using Google’s ‘AdSense’ program as one of the
    income-generators for your web site.

    But what exactly is ‘AdSense’?

Well AdSense is an advertising program with a difference and it
has virtually taken the Internet and small web site owners by
    storm…

If you have your own web site and join the free ‘AdSense’
program, Google gives you a code that you simply cut and paste
into your web pages. You can put the code into as many of your
web pages as you want but obviously the more pages in which you
place the code, the more likely you are to earn *more* money and
    here’s why…

Every time a visitor visits a page on which you have pasted your
AdSense code a few small text adverts appear.

Google’s clever AdSense technology will automatically display
adverts that are relevant to your topic. So if your web site is
all about quilting, the adverts will be related to quilting. If
it’s about parenting, the adverts will be related to parenting,
    and so on.

‘Where do these adverts come from?’ I hear you ask.

Well there are lots of people and busineses out there who want
to promote their web sites, products or services, so they pay
Google every time someone clicks on their advert.

    Now here’s the good part…

If a visitor clicks on any of the Google ‘AdSense’ adverts on
your web page - you get money!

This is such an eye-opening way to monetize that I’m going to
    repeat it:

If a visitor just CLICKS on any of the Google AdSense adverts on
your web page - GOOGLE PAYS YOU MONEY!!!

That’s right! The visitor doesn’t even need to BUY anything from
the advertiser! All they need to do is click on one of the
adverts on your web page and Google pays you!

So Google’s ‘AdSense’ program means that you really CAN earn
money *just by attracting visitors* to your web site.

‘MY web site?’ I hear you quiver.

    Yes YOUR web site!

Millions of web masters the world over create and run their own
web sites. Even high school drop outs can do it - in fact many
ARE doing it and are making a good living from it!

Heck, even young teenagers are doing it. A 14 year old Canadian
girl started her own web site about her family’s favorite
vacation spot (Anguilla) a couple of years ago. Two years on she
now earns thousands of dollars, part of which come from Google’s
    AdSense program!

And it’s not expensive to run your own web site either. In fact
you can do it without spending ANY money whatsoever if you
really want to (although there are drawbacks).

    —— SIDE NOTE ——

To find out why running a web site is easier than you might
    think, visit:

    http://www.sleepydust.net/running-your-ow
    n-website-is-easier-thank-you-think.html

    —— SIDE NOTE ——

Google’s AdSense is great news for small web site owners - and
YOU can become one of them.

All you need to do is write content on a topic that you know
about and love - whether that’s based on experience, hobbies,
interests, passions, or on a past job.

You know SOMETHING about SOMETHING - everybody does,
qualifications or not. And that knowledge and/or passion can
attract visitors. And with Google’s ‘AdSense’ program
    ‘visitors’…

    … means ‘clicks’…

    … means money!
